Tech topics at the 2017 Elkhart Rally.

Good morning folks, Rob of Cate&Rob had a good suggestion on the main rally thread about seminar topics, so I decided to start a new thread to act on it.

What topics do you want discussed at the rally's technical sessions this year? Please be specific on vendor and topic.

Good morning Red.

LCI - There are significant differences on suspension components between the product lines (Imagine, Reflection TT, Reflection FW, Solitude, etc.) If possible, I'd like to see Lippert describe the different suspension components that are installed in each model, and what types of maintenance are required to achieve the maximum life out of each.

For example, comparing a Reflection TT to a Reflection FW. The TT has a mix of plastic and bronze bushings, no wet bolts and no Equa-Flex. While the FW has bronze bushings, wet bolts and Equa-Flex. How should each be approached to maximize their useful life?

If MORryde is invited, I'd like to see them cover their products such as independent suspension, disc brakes, etc. What rigs would benefit from these products. However, this might be more of a marketing presentation and off topic from your request for tech topics.

Jim, MOR/ryde is one of the vendors this year. If there's enough interest we will make sure Gary Wheeler with MORryde will have a slot for a seminar. I like your idea on a LCI suspension seminar also.

Hi Red,

I would have a couple of questions for Dometic/Atwood:

1) Many of us have Atwood AC/fridge/furnace/water heater and have been told by retailers that there will soon be no more service parts. Is Dometic really going to abandon all their Atwood customers? If not, where should we get parts?

2) Those of us with early build Reflection products do not have exterior access panels to remove the furnace for service. This means a major tear-up to the plumbing and wiring to get the furnace out. My question would be what parts do we need to add the access panel to our furnaces. Input from GDRV on cutting the hole through the exterior wall would also be very helpful.

WRT Kantleak:

If there is interest, I could do a show-and-tell on exactly how to repair the internal and external leaks common with the Kantleak water panel . . . (unless Anderson Brass would like to attend and provide this information).

I doubt Andersen would show or for that matter even be invited (doesn't GD have to sign off on these things?). Andersen hasn't supplied their water valve for 2years now.
Rob's show and tell would however be great. Maybe he and Jamey Mathney could share in the presentation as those two have been on the cutting edge of re-engineering Andersen's faulty design.

Not able to make it to rally this year, but as owners of 2014 Reflection, would be interested in the Atwood parts availability issue also. Rob can keep me updated. :-)

I would love to see a talk on the upgrade from anderson Kant-leak to the Nautlis P1.
I was told no it wont fit last year and it will fit. They said no so i went out and bought one and yes it will fit, just need diagrams to convert. Who at GD can assist with the upgrade?
