    plastic door holders

    Hello,

I have a 2017 Reflection 26RL. The door opens and rests on the kitchen slide. There is a plastic right angle device to hold open the door. While picking up the unit, at the dealers site, they broke two of them that were replaced. I finally broke it myself about a week ago. I find I can order only the right angle holder as a unit online for about $9.00. I know I am going to break more. Does anyone have an alternate way to keep the door from flapping?

    Thanks

    Gerry M

I also broke mine while wiping the trailer with a rag. I caught it and it snapped. I manufactured a coat hanger into the shape of the arm and used it until we got home (it actually worked well and I saved it). Anyway, I went to a local rv shop hoping to buy metal, which they had. The tech said that many owners choose to stay with the plastic, because if it catches on something, or specially while driving, it's a lot cheaper and easier to replace the plastic holder than having a damaged wall. I bought the plastic direct replacement.

    HI,
I don't want to go to metal in case I close the slide accidently. I suppose I will buy the right angle plastic one. I just hate to buy the mounts along with the hook.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I am wondering about buying a magnetic holder (similar to the storage units), and installing that to keep the door open. I don't want to deal with the hook. Thoughts?

Don't see why that wouldn't work. Sounds good to me as long as the door opens enough to meet the adjacent side.
