    Hide-a-bed couch

When I pull out the hide a bed couch, it doesn't fold flat. There's a hump at the foot. Am I doing something wrong?

What model of RV do you have and can you post a picture?

On my unit if I don't get the folding bars pulled all the way out it will cause a hump. Best I can do.

A couple of years ago there was a lot of chatter about this on the forum (you might do a search). People were cutting off the folding legs at the foot of the bed frame to make things level. I thought Lippert (who makes the furniture for GD) had fixed this, though.

We noticed the same thing in our 2018 303RLS. The thickness of the foot of the bed, seat of the sofa, is greater than the head of the bed it sleeps fine though it gives the appearance of not being level.

I have a Reflection 5th wheel. I'll check the legs next time I go to the trailer.

I have a 2017 303rls. Same problem, the "foot" of the bed which is the seating area of the sofa, is thicker than the head of the bed. When you lay on it in the orientation, it feels as though your head is downhill. I am sure trying to spend the night that way would result in a headache. I am wondering if anyone has tried any modifications such as a thin 1 1/2 to 2" sheet of memory foam, or an air mattress or any other great ideas to make this a more user friendly bed? we took a guest with us on a recent trip, and they ended up kind of curling up, and sleeping diagonally on the head of the bed portion, after trying to fully stretch out, and also trying it backwards (head on the higher surface). Any ideas?

Once you get the bed level by cutting down the legs and shimming up the back section (see the various links referenced earlier) the bed becomes reasonably comfortable. Some have also had the webbing in the center section break and had to replace that. We started with a foam topper across the whole bed but found storing this to be an issue. We have recently switched to an air mattress which we put on top of the pulled out bed. A little more work to set up, but creates a much more comfortable bed and stores in a much smaller space.

Amazing that the modifications we figured out almost 3 years ago and brought to GDRV's attention . . . are still required today. Kind of disappointing.

What size and type of air mattresses are you using. Do they have inflation pumps or?
