Koreshan State Park (Florida)

Tucked into Koreshan State Historic Site, in Estero Florida, for a week.
And I do mean "tucked in" . . . the slide clears the trees by inches on one side and same with the awning on the other side .

Sites are relatively close together, but you can't see the neighbours because of the mature "Florida forest" between all the sites. What feels like a rural park that is two minutes (literally) from major shopping.

Definitely worth a visit for anyone travelling this part of Florida. We booked a long time ago, but there are empty sites. Probably won't be that way in January.

First, I thought you guys weren't heading south until after the Holidays? Second, since you're only there for a week where do you go after that and for how long? Are you bouncing around all winter?

Don't you just love those tight fits? Wrong. We had one like that in Charleston, SC that I really hated.

Landscape wise, it looks very much like our spot at Fort De Soto in St. Petersburg.

Hi Paul,

We are wandering northwest Florida from December thru March this year. We have a "home base" at a park near Lake Wales for the first two months (a family connection there) with a couple of side trips to the state parks we booked before coming up with the Lake Wales plan. For February and March we will wander through mostly state parks north towards the panhandle. But . . . where is everybody ? We have seen one Grand Design (a Solitude) since leaving Canada a couple of thousand miles ago.

There were two in Highlands Hammock State Park two weekends ago. Me and Connie & Angel (roadkingfl). Saw two more on my ride down there. But nothing since, was in a pretty full campground in Tavares last weekend, we were only GD.

Man, you ARE tucked in!!! Even though its warm here (forecast 80 on Christmas!), can't wait to get there!! See you all in a couple weeks!!!

We're at Lake City campground in Lake City, FL this week. An hour and a half drive here, must have saw a hundred campers on the way, not a single GD. Set up 3 spots away from a Solitude (nobody there today) and tonight while sitting at the fire another Reflection rolled in. Will try to meet them tomorrow.
