Mounting paper towel rack and hooks into cabinets

Has anyone mounted a paper towel holder or hook directly into the cabinet? Just wondering if the cabinets are thick enough or strong enough to support.

303rls. I mounted a paper towel holder on the bottom side of the hutch cabinets. Feels like a strong attachment. The cabinets have a finished bottom. There is a gap between the bottom of the shelf and the bottom of the cabinet. This is a very nice feature.
