    Tetons and Glacier Parks

Leaving Monday (6/19) for a two week trip up to the Tetons (Coulter Bay) and then Glacier (Columbia Falls). Anybody else going to be in that neck of the woods?

You might want to drag your feet a little. Going to the Sun Road is not open yet.

HERE is LINK to the plow status.

My wife and I were headed there years ago on the motorcycle and there had been a big winter. We went in the day it opened. We had to go in the up hill lane to avoid drowning from the weeping wall.

We just made the trip to Teton, Yellowstone in late May. We took 80 West to Rawlins Wyoming. Took 287 North to Lander Wyoming and stayed at Sleeping Bear RV Park. We woke up next day and major snow storm in the higher elevation Togwotee Pass. Nothing good happens when you are pulling a 5th Wheel through steep terrain and its well below freezing with over a foot of snow. Waited until next day. Travel day to Grand Teton was sunny and 50 degrees. Stayed at Colter Bay RV park in Grand Teton. Fairly nice campground. Be careful of power issues. Twice during stay very low voltages occurred during nighttime. My power monitor tripped and all was good. My neighbor with his 40 foot toy hauler was not a very happy person. A few electronics were fried.

I just returned from that area on the 18th. I entered Yellowstone on the east side from Cody and exited through the Tetons. We stayed at Bridge Bay in Yellowstone and it started snowing on the 12th PM and didn't stop till the 13th late PM. Beautiful place and enjoy!
