Winterizing RV
Our nautilus system doesn't siphon the antifreeze from the bottle, we have to pour it in with a funnel and hose. What could be the problem. We have all the knobs in correct position.

I'm not familiar with the nautalis system but if it functions simular to the kan leak, the water pump has to be on for the anti freeze to syphon. Is your water pump on?

I had a hard time getting my pump to suck up the antifreeze when we last winterized the rig. I have since read where some folks install a primer squeeze bulb in the line from the jug to the water inlet. Squeeze the bulb and it gets the antifreeze flowing well.

Try reversing the "cone shaped" washer/screen where you hook up the hose. This pushes open the built in check valve and seems to get things flowing easier. Be sure to put he washer back in the correct position after winterization. You may be also already be doing this but a very short hose from the antifreeze jug also helps.

I have the nautilus system and it works well for me. The two issues I have run into are 1) as mentioned above, make sure switch is on; 2) I took the built in water filter out. Assuming you did the same, try filling the empty canister back with antifreeze and be sure to screw it on tightly.

My problem was developing 30-40 psi air pressure in the system to blow out the waterlines. Nautilus P1 Winterize step #5 - I could not get any air pressure to develop in the system. Air compressor working fine - but getting 0 pressure in the system - It was as though I was pumping air into the atmosphere. Seems to me that setting the levers in the Powerfill position (or modified powerfill position 45 degrees) allows the air to go into the fresh water tank - and it's overflow pipe which is to atmosphere. Will never develop pressure that way. I developed air pressure in the "City Water" position however. The pumping of the antifreeze with the pump steps 7 to 17 worked fine. The pump primed first thing. Anyone have ideas on why I couldn't get any air pressure in the waterlines ?
