Changing flat tire
I will be doing some traveling in relatively remote areas where getting road service to change a flat tire is not convenient. This convinced me to replace the Westlake tires with some G rated tires, either Goodyear or more reasonably priced Sailun S637s. I do carry a couple of orange safety cones with reflectors.
What jacks do members recommend to carry for my Reflection 337RLS?
I carry an 18 volt cordless impact gun that I've used to remove lugs on my cars. I also carry a couple of torque wrenches and sockets but I just realized that my RV doesn't come with a jack to change tires.Jerry & Linda

I travel with a 6 ton bottle jack and a pair of heavy 3 ton jack stands.

Jerry - many of us have 12 or 20 ton jacks. My old 6 ton will not lift our 303 by the frame but can (struggles hard) at the axle. Remember to have a 3/4" 6 point rather than a 12 point socket for the lug nuts. I just bought a deep well and shallow well impact sockets for this and tested to ensure fit between lug and center cap........fits just perfectly.

Dan - not familiar with jacking up trailers, but wouldn't a 6 ton jack easily raise one axle of a 5.5 ton GVWR rig?
Thanks,

John - agree 100% on 6 ton for axles will do the job just fine. My old 6 ton is just wimping out after 35 years, I think.

Two questions- could you use your leveling system to raise the tire?
Also do reflections use rims that allow for the high psi of the Goodyear or Sailun tires?

Over time I have settled on two 6ton bottle jacks. For a single tire change on the road I raise only the stricken wheel only enough to change the tire. Keeping in mind the stresses this action places.
But, I have also had bad conditions, loamy soil, fire ants, etc. Because of these things I also carry a small tarp to lay down. I love 4x4x12 blocks. I can do so many things with them. They are cheap. Chocks, blocks, and emergency firewood. (The scotch bottle wasn't empty, the company was great and we needed more firewood).
Make sure your lug nut wrench is the correct size. Sounds silly, but it's not if you are about 20 miles outside of Lakeland, FL in the summer.

I got some 1/4" x 8" x 8" Hot Rolled Steel Plate to place under bottle jack in case of loose soil to help the jack sit and not sink or tilt.
Wood blocks Dallas mentioned are great tools, I've got a few 4x6.
