    Air conditioner keeps cycling

We have a 2017 315RLTS. We set the AC on 72. When it reaches what feels like the set temperature (we don't have a thermometer inside and the control only seems to show the set temperature) the AC shuts off momentarily. We hear a constant hum and it kicks right back on. It doesn't seem to happen at night when the temps drop into the 60s. Any ideas on what causes this and is it bad for the AC?

If your thermostat is the same as ours, then you can read the current indoor temp, just not with the air or heater on. When it is off, press either the up or down arrow twice, and the current temp will show.

As far as it cycling on and off, someone else may have to answer that. I do know that you want the fan set to "auto" because high or low will keep the fan on at all times.

We just had the same thing happen in our seasonal 315RTLS last night. We've spent the night there before, different times, and I hadn't noticed that happening. It would shut off for what seemed like a minute and right back on again. It must have finally settled down...or I just fell sound asleep despite it.

This is a classic case of cold air circulating right back into the return air duct. It is a VERY common problem and the solution is quite simple. Check out this thread and it will give you detailed instructions on how to inspect and resolve the issue if it exists. I did both of my ACs in less than 15 minutes. Page two of the thread includes pictures.
