Loose plastic nuts on back of Kantelek water system connecting hose to panel

Luckily I had a water sensor behind the water system on the floor it went off tonight turns out the plastic nuts that connect the hose to the back of the water system panel came loose so I recommend that if you at least have a reflection 317 you check those plastic nuts now and then to make sure they are tight and they did not become loose due to vibration

I use a set of channel lock pliers after I hand tighten them.

And I use gray teflon tape on the threads to minimize any leaks.

Only problem I've had with my 323BHS was in those nylon connections--engineered and built by Grand Design (not Anderson Kantleak). It took me 15 minutes to take'em apart, wrap the threads with gray teflon tape and put'em back together.

Careful with the channel locks.....broke a fitting using them. Luckily a nearby hardware had two of the fittings.

I had the same issue recently on my Nautilus panel. Resulted in a very small leak, a minor drip really, that I only found by hearing my water alarm going off. (On a side note, why is it that these alarms only seem to go off at 3:00 AM?) I pulled the panel off and hand-tightened some slightly loose fittings, so far so good. I have to say, after reading all of the horror stories about the Kantleak, I can live with the occasional loose nut on the Nautilus.

The black plastic connections are really compression fittings not tapered pipe threads. As such, teflon tape on the threads is not the intended sealing surface. Sometimes the plastic threads will bind before the compression seal is fully compressed. A drop of dishwashing liquid will temporarily lubricate these threads so that you can get a tight seal on the compression ring before the threads bind and you think you have reached sufficient torque/tightness.
