Tailgater No signal - I know a million posts but none answer this

I just can't get a signal. Which satellites should I point it toward? I have Dish at home and TT is in driveway so I lined up matching house and no signal then I lined up in SW 119 satellites and no signal there. I have it connected to SAT connection on the Nautilus panel.

I use the Dish Align app. It will show you which satellites to line up.

Dish has about 5 different ones to choose from. You just have to try them until 1 of them works. Usually the handle should point north. In my driveway I had to have the handle pointed northeast.

My tailgater has a handle, point it due North.
    119, 110, 129 are in the south/west . 129 is very low.
Make sure you have clear lines of site.... no trees, about 45 deg up.
    It will find them .
Find a free app for your phone it will show them to you
    Good luck

I use the SatFinder Lite app. It was free and works well. I use the echo west satellites, but yours will likely be something else, even though the numbers sound the same...110, 119, 129. Ask DISH or go on the internet to find the group.

Just curious, are you hearing the Tailgater adjusting in an attempt to locate satellites? You should hear the humming of the movement if there is power to the Tailgater. If you do not have a good connection, it won't work. DISH will walk you through the whole process if needed. Just hope you get a rep or tech that knows how. Some are not very informed.

Also, I suggest you try connecting the Tailgater directly to you satellite box to see if it works that way. Then you will know if the trailer connections/cable may be bad.

I had trouble with mine and ended up to be the wiring in the 5er. Try to run the cable direct from the dish to the back of the receiver and see if that works. If works its either a bad cable/connection in the coach or miss labeled connection...

I'm a little confused by this statement. It could be different due to the age of our units but I have no connection marked "SAT" in my rig. Mine identifies the connections by location and then one connection for cable. I have my satellite receiver in the living room so that's the connection port I use.

Paul, I'm not looking at it now, but there is one that says "satellite", then there is one that says "outside". Our satellite connection goes to the living room. It's important for the op to test his box and Tailgater by hooking directly tomit to be sure that works, then he can diagnose the trailer wiring as needed. Hope he did this. We are one of those that wired ours to connect under the slide.

BTW, glad you got your electrical issues figured out! Great people here, and GD was good to you.
