    Relocate Front Cap LED Switch

I am going to relocate the LED switch for the front cap to a place that will not get bumped by shifting items during transport in the storage compartment, this has happened 3 times so far. I am going to move the switch to the left side of the bed by the USB outlet. My question is what gauge of wire should I use?

Not knowing the exact current draw, I'd recommend 12awg copper stranded wire. If I knew the current draw of the lights, I could probably recommend a smaller wire. You could also match the wire size in the original switch and be fine.

The 2 LED strings probably draw less than 3A, maybe less than 2A. Most likely they're on a 15A fused circuit, so by rights you should use 14ga wire.

14 AWG is what I used. I got 3 way switches and an indicator and left one in the pass through and added one next to the USB plug with the indicator. Now I can turn it on or off from either location and I have the indicator to remind me it is on when I go to bed.
