    Negative battery lead on 303RLS

In planning our solar install I was tracing the wires coming off the battery and noticed that the negative lead simply terminates on the frame. At the DC breaker box the negative lead does the same thing, there is no wire running from the negative side of the battery to the fuse box. I'm installing solar controllers and an Inverter/Charger and I'm wondering if I should keep this configuration for reaching the fuse box with the negative side of the battery. Would it be appropriate to tie the negative bus bar, where the inverter and solar chargers will attach, to the frame?

Your frame is the ultimate grounding point. Same principle with a car. This is why they always tell you to ground to the frame/engine block NOT the battery if you have to jump start the car...
