Solitude 374TH-R...electrical configuration question

We are the pleased new owners of a GD Solitude 374TH-R, and as part of the initial walk through, we were shown the red 'kill switch' located in the front right under-storage. At the time, we were told it would disconnect power from the batteries to the RV, limiting energy leak when the unit was being stored unplugged. We have the unit parked and plugged into a 110 (using the adapter) to our home in order to keep the batteries charged, and we pulled the red switch.... however, both the refrigerator and the microwave (as indicated by the clock) are still running. What am I missing? Are the batteries even charging? Thanks for any expertise!

The fridge and the microwave (and a few other things) run directly off of 110 VAC, the batteries play no role. The fridge does need 12VDC for the control circuitry, but this comes from the 12V DC output of the converter.

I don't believe the batteries will be charged unless the kill switch is in the normal operating position.
