Does anybody live near the state of Virginia. Most of the posts I see are in the way South or way North, just curious. I have not seen another Grand Design RV since I bought mine a year ago.

Re: Location
I live 10 miles from the Virginia State line, South West Virginia. You will see some this coming season they are still a bit new, but gaining market share everyday.

We live in Virginia Beach. Where are you?
We bought from Southern RV in Richmond. Since then there is also a dealer in Portsmouth. We looked at a unit at a dealer near Manassas. Guess we will see more in the future.

Re: Location
Glad to see some Grand Design around the area. I live in Fredericksburg Virginia. I have camped at Virginia Beach nice area. I would also like to do some exploring in West Virginia, any ideas for campgrounds there. I have not found a lot of info on West Virginia. I bought my Solitude at the RV show in Timmonium Md last February. I have already had it a year can't believe it. Getting ready to start camping again in March.

Re: Location
We camped in West Virginia the past couple of years, depending on what part of the state you are interested in. We have stayed at Chief Logan State Park, and Fox Fire, both of those are nice.

Re: Location
Kay, My wife is from Va. Beach and her family live there so we will be visiting there often. Have plans to stay at a few parks there. Being ex- military and retired federal Fire Chief we plan on visiting a lot of friends in that area.
Chris, my son lives in Perryville MD. with his family and my grandbaby we also plan on spending a lot of time in that area. Fredericksburg is a nice area with a lot of history. It's just the traffic and those darn tunnels! Have you hauled through any of the tunnels yet. The other is all the darn tolls. I have no choice though if we are going to visit of course I will plan what work a rounds I can. Least you have a little better weather than we do in the mid-west

Re: Location
The Reflection has not yet been through a tunnel, but living in Hampton Roads it will be. I let my husband drive the tunnels, he says no big deal. The toll is high on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, but the view is great, the Eastern Shore is interesting, and you miss DC traffic.
We try to avoid the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel on I64 because of traffic. It is longer but can be same time so we often take US460.
Our previous fiver was 4' shorter but 6" taller.

Re: Location
Thanks I know I will be traveling that way. I as well don't really mind the tunnels I heard you have to pull over and get checked out first? Keep us posted.

Re: Location
I have been through the Hampton Roads Tunnel with the trailer. It is kind of a pain. You do have to pull over and they check to be sure your propane is off. The hardest part is getting back out onto the road to enter the tunnel. Nobody will let you in line, but what else is new. The traffic is usually pretty heavy going through the tunnel but I am not sure how much time it would save to go around it. Never tried it.
