Lights over theater seats and kitchen table

I want to remove wood chips that are inside the lens cover. How do you pop the cover off?

    Thanks...............

A flat-bladed screwdriver should do the trick. I you look around the base of the light cover where it meets the ceiling, you'll see several small slots spaced around the perimeter. Just insert screw driver and gently twist. You might have to do it to a couple of opposing slots before the cover pops off. I've also found that the pointy end of an old-time can opener also works well:

Another trick is to use a clamp like this: Click image for larger version.

Use the clamp long ways on the light so you are squeezing the short or round ends (as opposed to the long sides). Gently squeeze the cover to expand the long side and the cover should pop right off.

Ours where full of sawdust when we got it. I pried the first cover off (because I didn't know the trick I just suggested yet) and dumped the sawdust all over the table and chairs. Made an even bigger mess.
