B&W Companion "turn over ball base" with Sidewinder or Pivot Point

Is anyone out there using the B&W companion with the original turnover ball base and a sidewinder or pivot point pin box. B&W doesn't suggest it but I just can't see where the problem would be. The fifth wheel is an ultra light weighing just over 7000lbs so nowhere near the rating for the hitch.

Our B&W Companion hitch does have an orange sticker on it that says that those type of pin boxes are not permitted. The hitch is plenty sturdy believe the prohibition has to do with the single point attachment and the additional twisting or lateral force exerted by these type of hitches. We have the regular Lippert pin box on ours. I haven't met anyone using that type of pin box. Hope someone on here can give you some first hand insight. Good luck!

We have the B&W companion that uses the four puck mount of the Ram. Two times it is nice to have the 4 points of attachment and would put a lot of twisting force on the single point of attachment: 1) when backing into a site that is unlevel and uphill; and 2) when driving curves in the road as there will be a small amount of play and the pin box will slide from side to side. This movement is enough to feel in the truck when driving
