    Can't get my Vin number

I ordered my Solitude almost a month ago and have asked for the ViN. three times. I get excuses. Why is this? All's I wanted was double pane windows, slide toppers and a LP generator. ??? I wish I had this to do all over again....somewhere else with something else.

Are you requesting the vin through your dealership or GD?

    Can't get my Vin number

I'd go to the GM of the dealership if the salesman cannot help.

Has the factory started your production yet? I mean is the unit on the line? We ordered our Reflection in February, it came off the line on April 27, we took delivery mid May. I don't think a VIN is produced by Grand Design until the specific unit is in que to be on the line, but I could be wrong. Grand Design customer service may be helpful here and answer that for you if you reach out to them. They actually told us when ours was going online and what day it was going for PDI at the plant and when it was scheduled to come off the line.

The waiting was killing us, we ordered on Feb 27, the unit went online April 25 and finished PDI April 27. I don't think a VIN was available to our dealer until pretty close until the actual build because we could not move forward with financing that we were approved for in February until we actually got he untit. Must have VIN for that. When I talked to our dealer at an open house in June he told me it was 10 weeks for a build now to be done from the time order went in.

Cash deal on mine. They told me they would have the VIN that day. They got my money , not my trust. Started out I was excited and happy. Was.

    Mknwash,

I think your expectations are too high regarding the VIN and your dealership. As mentioned above the VIN will probably not be available until your unit is in the line. Things happen in production, trying to assign a VIN upon order would be a real crap shoot. Can you imagine the hassle of telling people who've already bought insurance, or other financial transactions that their VIN has changed?

I am curious why having or not having the VIN at this point is important?

When someone tells me something I tend to believe them.....turns out this wasn't so either. It is important for me to trust those I deal with. That is the Big Deal. Apparently finding integrity is becoming near impossible.
