Had receiver welded on the frame today to carry a generator set

Finally was successful today in having a good craftsman weld a receiver on the back of my 2016 Imagine 2600RB. I have a set of Honda 2000 generators and a extended run gas tank that will be mouned on a hitch haul tray. Question: Is there any reason I cannot run the generators while towing so that the interior is cooled when we arrive in this summer heat?

What are you going to do with your power cord and is it a 50 amp camper and do you think the generators will stay running while you are bouncing down the road

The 30 Amp power inlet is located at the back of the trailer, so the cord is not a problem to secure. These Honda generators will run in those conditions. My question has more to do with a reason I should not run them as I have confidence the generators will run in this condition. Any laws or general condition that prohibit running them.

It should be perfectly fine to do what you are planning.

    Sounds like a good idea...

I'd like to see pictures of your set-up if it's not too much trouble.

Only thing that might be an issue - steep inclines might trip off your oil level sensor(s).

Do you plan on being able to monitor them from the tow vehicle somehow?

You might want to get a locking pin on the receiver and lock the Honda 2000's to the platform. They're often stolen items when left unattended.

I don't think it's a problem. I work in plants and there are ex ray guys that drive trucks all day long with running generators mounted to the front of their rigs.

I come from the boating world. I have been on boats (captained a few) crossing the gulf where the pounding is many times worse than riding on a RV. Even running the Mississippi can be very rough at times. The engines and generators keep on operating. Mostly diesel, but a couple gasoline. Therefore I do not feel the rigors of a generator running on a RV is a problem, I just wondered if some safety regulation or whatever is meant to deter this type operation.

My wife and I have had a couple travel trailers, but have not actually embraced RV ing. We are trying to do so now and finding how little we know. Sometimes it seems daunting, but I know we can learn it.
