Fresh water leaking from foot valve when You step on the flush valve, dripping on flo
Hi All I have fresh water leaking at the foot valve every time You step on the valve to flush, dripping on the floor at back of the valve. I have always used a pressure regulator, any ideas????? Thanks in advance Droopy1952

Both the valve and vacuum breaker at the back of the toilet are very prone to leaks. This is most likely caused by some small bit of contamination getting stuck on a seat or in a seal. Not likely caused by any reasonable water pressure. Some have reported being able to flush out this contamination but these parts are relatively inexpensive and easy to change . . . so, keeping spares on board is a good idea. Another idea . . . while you are at this . . . install a shut off valve in the water feed line to the toilet. This lets you shut off the leaking water feed and flush the toilet with a container of water until you get around to fixing the valve leak. See picture.

When that happened to us, it turned out to be that the clear hose going from the foot valve to the vacuum breaker had not been installed well (the hose clamp was sloppily placed) and the hose vibrated off the vacuum breaker from bouncing down the road. Using a mirror, a headlamp, and a pair of pliers, I slid the clamp down the tubing, re-seated the tubing, and put the clamp back on properly. That was 9 or 10 months ago and nary a problem since.

Hey Rob Who did your Mor Ryde install with the disc brakes? We've been talking to Mor Ryde in Indiana about going out in May of 2018. Mike
