New 29RS owner....question about ride height

    Hi folks,

Just bought an '18 29RS today, and we are pretty excited.

We have a '14 Ram 3500 4X4 that sits pretty high.
I seem to recall that GD builds the Reflections to account for the increased ride height of today's trucks. Am I losing my mind (a possibility for sure), or is that the case? Would certainly like to not have to worry about the towing "nose high" predicament.

Also, there were issues with the hub seals leaking and contaminating the brakes. Is this still an issue with '18 builds? I thought I'd get the dealership to pull everything apart prior to us taking delivery to make sure there isn't an issue, but if it is a problem that's been resolved between GD and Lippert then I won't bug them about it.

After we put our deposit down we went back to the trailer (without the salesman who was busy anyway) and gave it a good once-over. Only found a couple small fit and finish issues that I'll forward to our salesman, so that is very encouraging!! Will still be doing a very detailed PDI on delivery day though.

    Cheers,

    Mike

We have a 2017 29RS, and just upgraded our tow vehicle to a 2013 F350, which is a bit higher than our F150 that we've been using. Our Andersen Ultimate hitch is scheduled to arrive today, so I'm hoping to have something to report in a day or two. I have the same concerns about height because we've been spoiled with a level towing experience so far.

Stay tuned and I'll report back, suspecting our experience should duplicate yours, despite the different tow vehicle manufacturer.

    Thanks for the response.

    Congrats on the 'new' truck.

    I tow a 379 with a 2014 Ram 3500 4 X 4. I had 2" added to suspension to level it

I got the hitch today, and got her installed. Just as LCBoyer mentioned it looks like it's about 2 inches high in the front. I'm going to consider some options to level it.

My goodness, that Andersen is easy to hook up. I'm going to get spoiled fast.

And on my 16 F150 with the same Anderson hitch. Worked fine with both trucks- plenty of clearance and it set level

Thanks for the pics guys. Look pretty level to me.
I have a rail mounted Andersen ready to go, so here's hoping the set up ends up looking like yours.

I have an email into GD about the axles/grease seals. Hoping they tell me that the issue has been remedied.

Does the front cap of the 5er hit the back back of your truck with that setup (using the andersen with short bed)? It looks like you have a lot of space to clear, but the angle of the photo could playing tricks on my eyes.

I believe anything made after May 8th 2017 had the new process put in place to remedy the axel grease issue. Check the date on the axel itself. Also, the new grease they use is red rather than grey.
