    376TH hitch pin height?

Hi everyone, just a quick question. Can someone tell me the height that their pin box plate sits at with the trailer level? I'm trying to see if the 5th wheel hitch on my truck sits to high. Thanks.

That would hard to answer. Unhitched it can be measured from pin to ground. Hitched, it would have to be measured from pin to truck bed and then measured from bed (above axle, not at tailgate) to ground.

My dually squats almost 4 inches when loaded. Not sure if that helps or not.

51 1/2 inch to the bottom of pin. 55 inches to the plate.

My 376TH is stored in a pole building with a level concrete floor. While stored it is leveled by the factory 6- point leveler. When activating the hitch height mode the pin rises approximately 2 inches for hitching.

I hope this helps and I hope you understand how my measurements were made.

FYI: I will be installing air bags in the near future. It's not a truck issue as far as towing is concerned. It's the 4 inch squat that my truck has that is causing my headlights to be out of aim. Also the trailer is a couple of inches down in the front while towing. Air bags will correct all of this.

Thank you very much! I will be towing this with a military FMTV. It won't squat much, but now I know I'll have to get a custom hitch put in.

A lot cheaper than a decent 1 ton, and rated to tow 60K. I'll have no problems pulling or stopping. Plus I should never get stuck in the dunes anymore haha.

Uhhhhh I remember back in the early 70s....my time in the Marines. I think those things got about 6 miles to the gallon.

Regarding Vonzoong measurements above, I believe they'll get you close however, I believe the self leveling system varies each time, depending on where the front landing gear is located when you first start the auto level. To keep from extending my 6 pt.leveling all the way full extension, I will lower the front legs after I move the truck so that it levels at a lower position (and then the legs aren't fully extended). So the height can vary, even on a completely flat surface.

Possibly, with your trailer unhooked, manually level your trailer with the front legs starting in different positions. Or......just put a level on your floor, just inside the door and have somebody watching it as you manually raise or lower the front legs until the level shows "level" and then take your measurements.

Also keep in mind, if you're like many of us you're going to change those tires (especially if you're going to be off road a lot). Depending on the tires that you're going to go with (the Goodyear G614) will raise your coach approx. 3/4"
