Extended Warranty/service contract, what did you pay and years.
Not looking for should I or not....just looking to see what folks are paying or have been quoted. Feel free to share a good and bad story.
I got a quote from a local dealer (non Grand Design) and it was the Xtraride 7 year Platinum $2798 plus tax. Was told 10% down and then 12 equal payments for a year no interest.
Got another quote from a Grand Design Dealer for USA Travelcare for 5 years at $2172
Both are 100 deductable.
In a motorcycle forum there was a "Prices paid so we all prosper" thread and I thought it could work here. Thought about it for prices of units but not sure it would fly......

I actually purchased an extended warranty and I never do. The only reason I did was because it came with GAP coverage. Don't remember the exact $ amount but it was just shy of $3000.00. I did that with a vehicle one time only to learn that bumper to bumper only covers everything outside the bumpers. I said never again but I got suckered with this TT. It is a 10 year warranty and I paid it outright to avoid more interest

Our extended warranty as of today was free. Think about that.

Although I didn't purcase an extended warranty, I was offered one at the time of purchase for seven years at $2500. If I didnt do all my own work, I'd certainly have considered it.

Bought a 7 year extended warranty for about $2K because this is our first RV and that would be the cost of a major appliance replacement or similar repair. Have not had to use it because Grand Design has taken care of every issue that we have had .

That's why we bought our extended warranty. This is first RV (tent trailer doesn't count). But one trip to the East Coast used up enough parts and labor to cover the cost of the policy. Dexter axles and springs, wet bolts and bushings, HD shackles and Goodyear tires were on me though. Someone should come up with a policy that covers rampant spending.

I don't k'now anything about extended RV warranties.
Are these extended policies worth the paper they're written on?
- any problems making a claim?
- any $ caps on claims?
- is there any glaring language in the fine print?
Thanks

We bought the XtraRide 7 Year Service Contract Program. Bought the Platinum Coverage as well as the Optional Consequential Failure, Optional Tire & Wheel and Optional Enhanced Service Call. Trip Interruption Coverage was also included. We paid 2266 for vthe package. Rolled it into the RV financing which had interest rate of 2.99% with 5 year balloon.
We will find out how good the Trip Intereruption Coverage is when we file our claim for the 6 days we spent in Delta UT waiting for our truck to be repaired recently.Barb and Blair, retired and loving it
