    H2O Pump Runs Continuously

When I turn my water pump on at either panel, the pump runs continuously with all my faucets off. Fresh water tank is full, outside shower is turned off and water panel in basement is set on "Dry Camping". I'm confused, I've had this camper over a year and have spent several days every week in it since new. I can't say l did anything different that caused things to change. Now l just turn the pump on and off as l needed water.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Plug the connection where you hook up for city water and see if it stops. It can suck air and lower the pressure enough to make the pump run. Many including myself have had the check valve in that connection fail so now I just keep mine plugged with a hose cap.

Edit, Not sure it's an actual check valve but shouldn't suck air.

    Great idea but no change.
I put my palm over the hole and no suction unless I have the panel set on "City Water". Then I can feel the suction at the inlet.

    Ant ideas Rob?
Could the pump be sucking air behind the panel? Maybe a loose line letting air in?

Terry - When you turn the pump on and off manually, do you get normal cold and hot water flow ? If so, I am thinking that the pump has a faulty high pressure limit switch.

One of the best diagnostic tools for a water system is a simple pressure gauge connected into the pressure side of the system. This gauge can verify pump cut-in and cut-out pressures. It will show you a slow leak on the pressure side or pump cavitation from an air leak on the suction side. Simple to install with a Sharkbite Tee in any convenient cold pressure line.
