    Shakeout trip

Well, we just completed our first trip in the Reflection. 10 days at Lake Eufaula, Okla. There were a few minor things that we will take up with the dealer in about a week but I have to say that I am exceptionally pleased with the trailer. Most of the items we found to be corrected are fit and finish items (loose trim, shower door adjustment, kitchen drawer adjustments, etc.) There was one item I consider major. On the second day I couldn't get the deadbolt to open. It took about an hour of jiggling with either key before it opened as it was supposed to. I could live with that but on the 6th day I was 45 miles away pre-fishing for a tournament when I got a call that it happened with my wife also. Drove back and again tried both keys with neither working. She had been locked out for 4 hours by the time I got her message and got back. It took a locksmith with good burglar tools to get it open. It usually works just fine but when it jams...it jams! That's going to be replaced!

I don't mean for the above to be a gripe against Grand Design. I've been going the RV thing for many, many years and I have had many, many brands and types of trailers. Some bigger, some smaller. The 303 is my favorite of the bunch. It is right sized for me and fits my style of RVing. As I said above I'm very pleased with the trailer. Now we will see if I'm pleased with the dealer when we take it for the adjustments.

We also have had a lot of trouble with our deadbolt. The dealer changed out the canister, but it still acts up. One of the little things we will have addressed when we take it in. We love our Reflection also. Betsy.

We also love our 303. We are on our shakedown. My husband fixed the stove problem, and we restrung the blind in the slide by the door (we had the string from our previous camper).

The cabinet doors in the island stick. Anyone else had this problem?

    So, overall nothing really big.

The few things we had were with components and remotes. Trailer wise, so far we had a scratched wardrobe door that is being replaced and that is about it. Once we get to give it a real trial we'll know more.
Hmm, our door was stuck too and we couldn't get either key to work. We thought it was frozen and it opened on a warmer day. Haven't locked it since then it is still quite cold.

    FYI:

I just sent an e mail to our entry door supplier and to several Grand Design Managers about the dead bolt problems.

    Thanks for the input,

Sounds like it'd be a good idea to use the latch lock instead of the dead bolt when locking the door from the outside until Bill and LCI can determine the fix. I'm assuming that you can still use the dead bolt from inside the coach.

We couldn't get either lock to work, they both stuck. I'm really not comfortable locking it until it gets looked at by the dealer. My husband said he had trouble with the basement doors as well.
It's going there tomorrow for minor issues to be fixed ,and I added it to my small list of things to check out.

    Re: Shakeout trip

Our locks were a bit difficult and my husband used some WD40. No problems since. We are trying to avoid the 200 mile round trip to the dealer. Seem to be about the same as the locks on our previous rig.

WD40 didn't help ours at all. Note the Fastec lock recall here - http://www.mygrandrv.com/index.php?topic=428.0
