Purchase decision between Reflection and Solitude Fifth Wheel
We are trying to decide between a Reflection that is about 35 1/2 ft. and the Solitude that is about 40 1/2 ft. We like both, but like the Solitude a little better. Is there someone that has maybe had both sizes that could give me an opinion? We are a little concerned about finding places that take a 40-41 footer. This will be used for weekend camping and long weekend getaways and a couple of 7-10 day vacations per year. Thanks for any input!

Our Momentum 380 is 42'+ long and as full timers we park it somewhere every night. We probably need more info on how/where you plan to use it to help. Being retired we stop earlier than most and can get the bigger sites. Most park owners ask if we could have bought a bigger one and we say "actually no".

You would need a diesel duallie for the Solitude. They Reflections can be towed by a properly equipped 3/4 ton. The Reflection should suit your needs fine for the time you will be spending in it.

So, would you buy that length again or go smaller next time?

Thanks, we have 2 diesels already. An F350 and an F250. We were just thinking that the Reflection would be easier to parking etc.

I would definitely go with the one I liked the best! Buyers remorse is not fun. Get the one that feels the most comfortable. We bought a another brand 5 years ago that was smaller. Then we walked in to the Solitude and within 6 months we traded. Now we are in a Momentum and have never looked back!

Being full time it's nice to have the room so the length is what it is...we deal with it. IMO there's not much difference between 36' and 41'. Now if you could drop to 30' that would make a difference. A lot of sites are clear in the back so we extend behind the concrete block about 10' or 12' feet. As I said arriving early helps.
You might drive through a camp ground on a Saturday afternoon and just look at the rigs that are parked, getting a visual will help. You might try to rent one too.

We have a 35' Imagine and are weekend warriors and there's just the 2 of us....knowing what I know now, I would have just gotten a class B for weekends....much easier setup and breakdown. When I go fulltime I would go with the bigger rig since you would need more room for storage and will be staying put in a location for longer periods of time.
That being said, I do love my Imagine! I wish GD would make class B's or C's.Rick & Patti

My unit is 42'long and I love the living space it offers. There are campgrounds I don't choose because of size limitations, but I have not had problems finding options that do accommodate my unit. I have read folks say that many of the national parks don't accommodate larger units, so if there are specific parks at which you'd like to stay, take a look at what they will be able to handle. At that point, the decision is between floor plan you like and specific destinations.
I am comfortable driving and parking my unit and would definitely buy the same thing again.2017 Ford F350 Platinum 6.7L PowerStroke DRW
