Just an update, I have received the first plug I referenced above (below again for clarity). I have assembled my cables and tested it and it fits the Furion port perfectly, both mechanically and electrically. The connector is a decent quality component (I do this stuff for a living just not on RVs) with the appropriate seals for waterproofing. It does require soldering the wires to the back of the connector. I am using it to connect my Renogy 50W solar panel so I can keep the battery charged while the unit is in storage. I will still have to mount the controller in the front compartment and wire it but that is a simple job.

I was looking at the Furion Suitcase solar panel. It states all you need to do is plug in into the plug on the side of a Grand Design trailer. It looks like that it is ready to go out of the box. No adapters or controller needs to be added. Is this not true?

If you're talking about the Furion FSPP95SA-BL 95W Portable Solar Charger then yes, the controller is mounted on the back of the solar panel so it's a completed system and is ready to plug into the RV.

I'm doing something a different and cheaper so can keep the battery charged when the unit is in storage so I'm using a 50W panel and a separate controller. I'm going to mount my controller inside the front compartment to keep it out of the weather.

Steve I know this is an old post, but I'm looking to do the same. Looks like you should use only 12 or 14AWG. I'm wanting to use 10AWG if it will work. Your thoughts?

If you mean soldering the wires to the plug connections, doesn't look like 10 Awg wire would fit in.

My Reflection has that plug.
I bought a portable panel because we camp under trees. It came with a charger but I mounted it by the batteries. Getting a Furion compatible plug was Amazon easy, as was the 30' extension cord.

Now I just plug in the panel and place it in the sun. I have to open the cupboard to read the stats, and I lock the panel to something if there are others around. All in all it's very functional.
