Hi from San Diego County
Jim and I just traded our Montana for a 2014 Solitude 369RL last night.
We've been members of the Montana Owners Forum for 10 years and I'm glad to see that there's one for Grand Design owners. I'm looking forward to reading all your comments and sharing information.
We won't be picking up our Solitude until next week and I was wondering if anyone has any tips for things to check during our PDI.

Re: Hi from San Diego County
Welcome Jim and Kathy. We've had our Solitude for almost a year now and just love it. Very few issues. Suggestions for your PDI? Hmmmm.............check EVERYTHING. I would have the dealer demo EVERY system in the rig. Inside and out. Take your time. Take notes if you like. The owners manual that Grand Design provides is specific to your 369 and will cover almost everything. I would also spend some time reading this forum to get info on specific problems others have encountered. Grand Design makes a quality product but as the unit gets some miles on it and "settles", things may crop up. They always do. Enjoy your new condo on wheels! ;D

Welcome to the forum Jim and Kathy and congratulations on your new Solitude!
We have the 369RL and love it. We have had only a few minor problems in the year we have owned ours, but like Andy said, have the dealer go through every system, appliance, and electronic device inside and out.

Re: Hi from San Diego County
Thanks everyone for the welcome. I'm sure we're gonna love our 369 once we get it home and go on a shakedown trip.
Jim's a bit nervous about the weight & pin weight of the trailer and towing it with our Chevy. He's thinking about adding an extra leaf spring or air bags and maybe an Edge chip. Haven't had a problem with our 3400RL Montana but it wasn't as heavy as the 369. Any thoughts on this?

Re: Hi from San Diego County
Welcome Jim and Kathy!
We have a 369 RL also! Just like everyone else we haven't gotten to go out yet-but next week is our maiden trip!! My hubby took his ipad to the PDI with us and virtually videoed every word. He has referred back to it so many times as we have talking things over. Of course it will be invaluable on our first trip out until we get used to all the workings!
I will post how things go next week!Allen and Sandi-Lexington, KY

Hiya Jim and Kathy and welcome to the forums!
Congratulations on your new Solitude!
We've had our Solitude since Aug and have camped several times. Nothing serious, so far. Of the few warranty issues we've had, our dealer has handled. I thought we had a major problem (with floors) but turned out to be a spring or something. Everything is great

Re: Hi from San Diego County
Hi Kathy. I would think that towing capacity on your Chevy would be okay for your Solitude. Not sure. I'm a Ford guy. I would be more concerned about pin weight. You might want to look at the numbers for payload capacities on that truck. If they are good for what you are hauling then extra springs or air bags or Timbrens might be necessary if it squats too much with the heavier pin weight of the Solitude. I have several friends with 1 ton Chevys towing the 369 with no problems using the stock spring setup but yours is a 3/4 ton so payload might be an issue. Best of luck.

Re: Hi from San Diego County
Welcome to the forum. I have had my Solitude for one year and traveled cross country and had a few minor problems but nothing that could not be fixed by the dealer. On my walkthrough I wished I would have went into more detail about the level up system because on my first trip I could not auto level had to use manual mode and had to call Lippert to help me out because the dealer was closed and they had not gone into a lot of detail about manual mode. I was in the mountains and the site was quite unlevel as they usually are. Have them go into detail unless you have already had the system before.
