    Fifth Wheel Hitches - f150

I have been doing research on 5th Wheel hitches for the 2018 F150 I have on order (with HDPP and Max Tow). Attached is what I have put together which shows the hitches I have narrowed this down to - by B&W, Pullrite, Curt, and Reese. These are in no special order, and the weights and costs are estimated based on the multiple sources I have used. I like the idea of a auto slider, but also like the idea of a lighter hitch. I wish the Pullrite Superlite or Andersen UH were better options, but from what I can tell neither places the pin weight over or a little in front of the rear truck axle. So - this is where I'm at - no final decision yet, but I am taking my time - the truck doesn't come in for another ~6 weeks, and I am still researching...

What RV are you planning on getting? I would not pull a 5th wheel unless I have a 1 ton truck, period.

A half ton truck, hence F150, dodge or anything that is not at least a ONE ton truck cannot pull a 5th wheel. PERIOD. If you have to add air bags or this or that does not make a difference. If you want to pull a 5th wheel, you need a bigger truck. PERIOD. What is tounge weight of a 3/4 ton? What is tonge weight of a 1 one ton? Yep its all over the place when looking. My payload is from a single cab dually diesel 4x4 of 6200Lbs.

What is the payload of your truck?

Stimpack - I can see that you are new here and jumping on a lot of old threads with your own perspective. We encourage "respectful difference of opinion" on this site. Please understand that many of us choose to safely tow much closer to the max capabilities of our trucks. A properly built/equipped F150 can handle a 5th wheel with a pin weight under 2000 lbs.

I too am planning to pull a 260 RD fifth wheel with my F-150. Pin weight is 1325# and payload in truck bed is 2000# unit weighs 9300# at max load and truck is rated at 12,300. If I find it an issue in the future I will buy a heavier truck but I'm trusting that Ford and Grand Design's 150 series fifth wheels are correct in their design information.

PS. I also have an extended warranty so if the truck can't handle it, repairs are free.
