    Generator - LP Usage.

If you have an LP generator......

    how big?

How many gallons per hour of LP does it consume?

Thanks. Looking to order a 310GK-R and wondering if I want an LP generator installed.

I installed an Onan 3600 LP generator in our 337. We have smaller front compartments than the Solitude line. You can likely fit whatever size you like in yours. I would install at least a 5500 if you can. They are slightly quieter from the outside because they draw air from the bottom whereas the 3600 needs a grill in the front because it draws from the front making it louder.

I have found it uses much less propane than I had read and expected but most people say they drink about a gallon an hour. I feel mine runs less than that but I have never really done a formal test.

BTW, after using twin Hondas for years, I love having an on-board generator.

I guess I expected a few more responses. Maybe most people don't have LP generators??

Still hoping to get some feedback.

My choice will be whether to get an on-board generator (first preference) or use my 2 Honda 2000 generators.

traveldawg - I did a search using propane and generator and here are the results.......maybe you will find some helpful information here if no other responses: https://www.mygrandrv.com/fo...hid=991635&pp=

You can conduct other searches as well using words you wish more appropriate to your needs.

I just ordered our 375RES with the factory gen. I spoke with several ONAN factory reps on their product. The 5.5 they put in the Solitude uses .4 gallons per hour at idle w/no load....uses .7 gal per hour at half load (1ac) and 1.1 GPH at full load... so a 30lb tank is 7.5 gallons...around 9 or 10 hour on a tank... rep said only need to run 3 hours a day to keep batteries up to run residential fridge 24/7....

Thanks, Pat Renee. What I'm thinking is thaI'll likely run the generator for about an hour just before pulling into a campground on hot days so the interior is cool. (I've been spoiled a bit with a motorhome and having it already cool when pulling in to a CG).
