Front a.c. adds too much moisture

We decided to get the optional front a/c. We were a little surprised to find out it wasn't ducted into the rest of the trailer but that is not my concern. We are camping at Hilton Head Island and it is very humid. Every time we run the front a/c it fills the camper with humidity and makes it very uncomfortable. The main a/c does not do this. Does anyone else have this problem and what can be done to stop this? It makes the front unit unusable.
    Thanks

I think something is wrong with your A/C unit. Adding humidity? Very strange. Is it cooling at all? My first step would be to check the drains on the A/C unit. If they are filled and not letting the condensed water run off that may allow it to blow water into the RV.

The unit cools fine and I got on the roof and the condensation is running off. It acts like it is pulling in air from the outside. When we got here the humidity was really low and the front a/c did great. Then the humidity went up and now when you run it the bedroom, and the rest of the camper, gets very humid. If you shut it down and just run the main a/c the humidity drops. Makes me regret spending the money for the extra a/c.

That doesnt sound like its operating correctly. Have you checked the baffle between the intake and discharge? There is a foam aluminum covered board that seperates the two sections. It is a common and well known problem on this forum. If you take off the air filter cover and shroud you will have access to it. I used duct tape to better seal mine and hold it in place; this was needed on all 3 A/Cs. The problem with the board not seated in the right spot is that it allows a direct path from the discharge to the intake and then the A/C isnt working as it should.

Another possibility is the 4 bolts holding the A/C is place. If not tight enough, it wont compress the foam gasket enough. I imagine you would have noticed rain water coming in if that was the case, but certainly worth checking.

That is a possibility because the dealer installed the unit. I don't know why the factory didn't install it. But it was pouring this morning and there was no leaks, but I will check them as well.
    Thanks

So this is what I found after messing with it. The baffle seems to be installed correctly. When the a/c is running and the compressor is actually running the air humidity is fine. When the compressor kicks off and the fan continues to run the air gets very humid very fast. So I would say it is definitely drawing air from the outside. Now I need to figure out where and why. I thought these units recirculated the inside air.

I dont have any expierience wcith that sitiation. I thought the air intake was sealed. If it were me, id remove the plastic cover on top of the A/C. Maybe the air box that the fan sits in needs to be sealed better; i think its just formed with sheet metal.
