Has anyone added an underbelly storage bag.
I have run out of room in my basement and considering adding a watertight, marine plywood box under the frame. I see it being 8” x30” x 8’ to store chairs and power cord in. I would secure the box with a fabricated steel frame.
I am trying to thing of the down side of this project.
Has anyone done something similar?Keith & Kate

Other than complications for dropping the underbelly coroplast (should you ever need to do this), I can't see any reason that this wouldn't work.

At the first Grand Design rally, I purchased a Lippert slide out tray set up, with a spare tire carrier. There are two compartments that slide out, one for each side. They are not water tight, but I only store my electrical lines in them, keeping the tips sealed in plastic bags. When mounted they do compromise ground clearance significantly. At some point, I am going to mount it closer to the axels, to obtain more clearance. The storage containers are not anywhere near large enough to store chairs in.
As mentioned above, if you need to take down the coroplast, all this hardware has to come off.
In conclusion, even though there are some concerns, I would do the same thing, it makes for easy access to the electric lines when setting up camp.Gordo Fuchs

Ground clearance going through dips in the road would be my concern.

Many folks have mounted 5" fence posts under their coach for storing things like flag poles, sewer hoses etc. As long as you keep it close to the axles, you'll probably be good with ground clearance.

My concern would be weight. That sucker could be pretty heavy! As Gordo said there are commercially available under belly storage modules available that may be lighter and easier to install.

I agree.....a marine grade plywood box is going to be damn heavy.
The aftermarket boxes that I posted a link to in Reply #7 above should be much lighter (although it will not be "light") than a plywood box and if mounted just in front of the axles or just behind the axles shouldn't have to much affect on ground clearance unless you're taking yours off road. I believe my 376TH will be staying on the road for the most part.SOLD my 2017 Momentum 376TH being pulled by a 2014 Ford F-350 Lariat, FX-4, Crew Cab, Longbed, Dually.
