LED Light over Stove

It looks to me like they used a rotozip type tool with a shaky hand.

Clearly that hole was cut with a live beaver.

Our 303 has the same problem and we dry camp a lot. Worse off there is no 12v close by. I tapped off the fridge 12v, ran a line up and into the area and put up some 12v strip lights and a switch. Problem solved. Photos attached

I'm more ticked off there was no slack on the wires than I would be about the how the hole was cut....... both valid complaints, however.

That's funny because a couple days ago I had to replace the switch that operates our landing gear. When I removed the old switch about 3 feet of wire fell out attached to the switch. Maybe some of it is yours. 🙂

Yes she is aware of the lights under the microwave but they are dim and yellow. She wanted brighter lights.

Can't you just replace the existing bulb with a bright LED version to fix this problem?

This is my exact problem! No light above the stove when dry camping. I’ve read your post but not sure how you did what you are describing. It looks like a great fix to this problem. When you say “I tapped off the fridge 12V” what do you mean?

Hi: Sorry for the delay. I don't visit this site all the time any more. I ran wires through the hood and drilled a small hole through the wall to the back of the fridge and then down. I just tapped off the 12V power there. A led strip light draws almost nothing. You could also go the other way and pull power from the lines going to the light in the pantry.

The only reason that is did not do the pantry light is I couldn’t fish the wire through the pantry ceiling and you would need to run the wire in an exposed area of the pantry (meaning it would not be completely hidden in the pantry). I looked at running it up around the door frame on the inside . Of course I then added strip LEDs down the sides of the pantry on another project To add more light on each shelf and had wires exposed for that. Sometimes ya just can’t win. Good luck, adding the lights really does help.

DW wanted more light under the hood also so I replaced the bulbs with much brighter LED's.
