    Adding TV to storage compartment

Has anyone added a television bracket and television to their storage compartment. I am looking at side/wall mount or a slide mount to the top of the compartment, any suggestions.

Check out the Mor-Ryde mounts. Very good mounts with a suspension to take the abuse.

Re: Adding TV to storage compartment

I installed a 32" TV in the door side baggage department using the MOR/Ryde TV40-002H "Horizontal Sliding TV Mount" bracket. I mounted the TV bracket to the right side baggage wall using bolts and large washers (purchased from Home Depot) instead of the supplied screws that came with the bracket. I now can slide the TV out of the compartment and rotate it into viewing mode without moving any other items out of the way which is not be possible with the MOR/Ryde ceiling mounted bracket or the shorter version of the horizontal sliding bracket. I also constructed a wood box around the TV to protect it from items loaded in the baggage compartment.

I purchased the bracket from Amazon.com. Note. check all of the TV Cable connectors everywhere in the trailer to ensure they are tight. Mine were loose everywhere in the trailer.

Yes, added a 32" to the bulkhead between the front storage compartment and the pass through. Works great on swing out bracket I found on the internet. I checked out the MOR/Ryde and liked it but didn't like the 280.00 price tag. I will take pictures of the end result and provide resources. Give me a couple of days!

Re: Adding TV to storage compartment

Thanks for the replies and suggestions, I did check out the Mor-Ryde mounts but was unsure what type of bracket to use. I will stay away from the ceiling mount.
Thanks Dave I will wait for the additional info.

    The Package

    Phillips 32” LED TV (32PFL4508/F7)
Monoprice 5921 bracket (monoprice.com) $28.28 plus tax and shipping
2 sash lift handles $6.00 HD
    3 ¼”x 1 ½ tek screws $2.98 HD
    1-2” x 36” Velcro starp 90440ACS $5.69 HD
1-1/4” 2’x4’ cut to TV size luan panel $8.00 HD
    1- 3’x6’ felt cloth from Joann’s 8.00
1- 3’x6’ vinyl material Joann’s $16.00 (there are covers available online but are between 30 to 80 dollars)
    1- spray adhesive $8.00 HD
    1-elect extension cord $4.98 HD
    1- coax extension 3.98 HD
    12- zip ties $2.98 HD

I located my TV on the front side of the cargo compartment for the best viewing from where I thought most people gather. Finding the correct height and setback for the TV bracket is the most critical. You don’t want the TV in the closed position to be too close to the cargo opening rim, mine is 1” inward for traveling position so it took a little measuring with the TV mounted to the bracket to get the proper setback. Once established the next consideration is the correct height as to clear the bottom of the cargo door opening. On my installation it so happened that the bracket mounting was right in line with the vertical frame member of the coach portion that goes up the hitch.

Cut luan panel and adhere felt all around with spray adhesive. Sew vinyl cover. Locate where TV bracket will be mounted. Secure bracket, secure velcro and sash handles, mount TV and run extensions, secure vinyl cover/luan felt protector secure with velcro strap and you are ready to go! Sounds tedious and entailed, but after the fact I think it was about and hour install. The majority of the installation was deciphering and assembling the “package”.

Important note, because you are mounting through the bulkhead steel and possibly by the frame you must pre drill pilot holes with proper size prior to securing screws. Also note there are a multitude of hydraulic, electrical and other miscellaneous mechanical obstacles that must be checked, checked again and rechecked BEFORE any drilling or securing is done to avoid any damage or warranty issues.

    Good luck, hope this helps
