Thomas Payne Collection theatre seating - Problem

We have an Imagine 2670MK and the footrests of out Thomas Payne Theatre Seating are near impossible to get to lock in place from a seated position. Anyone else having this problem ? Is there an adjustment ?? I looked and really could not see much in the way of adjustment.

Any help appreciated. Much thanks in advance.

We had lots of trouble... went to a rally and saw the models that had the power Thomas Paine recliners. $1900 later, we loved the decision.

I have the same style recliners in my home so I suppose I'm used to them. You have to sit upright first and be sure the backrest is all the way up. Then you have to really push backward with your legs like you are trying to kill it. It's going to be noisy and a good thud will be heard but it works first time every time. After a while I think the mechanism gets broken in and may be easier to use, or your legs get stronger.

I usually stand up first and then push back with a leg.

Think of it as an ab/quad workout. Mine is difficult also, but I am not annoyed with it.

I get the foot rest started with my legs, then bend over and use my arms to finish the task. I gotta do the same with our reclining sofa end at home.

The other traveler, even though she has bad knees, has figured out how to get them mostly in while seated, then stand up while giving them a backward kick with one heel. I can't quite seem to master it. But I also can't seem to get the backs to recline very well either.
