Using Cpap machine boondoging / dry camping

I am a Cpap machine user and we do a lot of boondoging / dry camping.
It is a home unit that is 120 v from wall outlet that is inverted / converted to 12v. 5.0 AMPS To machine.
    Question is:
Can I / should I install a converter or inverter to power my Cpap unit? I am running 2 6volt golf cart batts. for trailer power.
    Thanks for the feedback

Rockan - This has been discussed pretty extensively in a couple of other threads. Here are links to them:

    I hope this helps.
