Water TOO HOT and can't adjust
Is there any way to adjust the hot water temperature on an gas/electric Atwood water heater with electronic ignition? Can't find anything in the Atwood pamphlet that came with our unit nor the Reflection Manual, which seems to be very generic and outdated. We have a GC6AA-10E and the water is scalding hot. We love the quick response it gives but we'd also like not to get scalded in the shower and be able to reduce our propane usage when we're dry camping.

Bottom line is "no" - there is no adjustment.

There are two thermal switches for controlling water temperature. The "thermostat"(set at about 150?) and the "over temperature" safety limit (set at about 180?). I wonder if your thermostat has failed and you are running on the safety limit switch? Our water is hot but definitely not scalding hot.

Pretty easy to change the stat. I changed mine out before I discovered the exterior faucet was on causing low temps. Now I have spares!
