Sleep Number r5 bed - Anybody have One?

We are desperate for a new RV King mattress for our Solitude. Noticed in the Camping World Sale flyer out today, the Sleep Number r5 bed is on sale. Does anyone own one of these? Can you give us a review on it? We want a very firm mattress and don't mind paying for it if it is a quality product.

We have two. One at home and one in the trailer. We got the one for the trailer first and liked it so much we got one for home. The only slight annoyance is having to readjust at each new altitude. And of course don't forget to lower pressure before going really high.

One caution on Camping World, both purchases they sent some of the wrong parts. Not sure if the mix ups were their fault or Sleep Number but they finally got it right.

Thanks for the reply. Camping World says they will install it free. Any idea why I would need someone to install a mattress? Is the installation difficult? I am quite adverse to allowing CW to touch my rig with their reputation. Our local one is no different.

I agree, I wouldn't let them touch my trailer either.

It is not difficult. Just a little tight assembling in the trailer. The hardest part is figuring out how and where to route the hoses. I put the pump under the bed and drilled holes at the head of the bed to run the hoses through. You should have no problem installing the bed.

We just ordered the R5 bed from the Sleep Number store. A bit higher price than CW, but 24 months same as cash and the people are much more knowledgeable and nicer.

You do need a 120 VAC outlet somewhere near the pump. I installed an additional outlet in the under-bed storage compartment to keep the wires out of sight.
