    Fireplace surround

Does anyone know how to remove the fireplace surround on the electric fireplace to access the area behind? Pictures would be great if possible. Thanks!

It should be just the phillips screws on the front to remove it, I cannot remember if it was 4 or 6 screws. Unscrew and remove carefully.

Just lift up on the surround and it comes off. Screws holding in the fireplace are behind that.

If it's a Furrion as I recall the surround is just magnetically attached.

Manuals are on their website though.

    Fireplace surround

On my Greystone fireplace the surround just slides up and off of the frame...no screws. The balance of the heater is held in place with 4 screws.

So, the part I'm talking about is the grey, stone looking piece. It looks like this might be new to the 2018 models.

Well, I figured it out. After lifting, pulling and prodding a corner popped loose. Turns out it's nailed on with finishing nails. Pulling it off was an adventure, getting it back on will be even more of an adventure.

I have that gray concrete looking surround on mine too. I was thinking about removing it just because I dont like how it looks.
Why did you have to take yours off?
Is it finished wood all the way behind it?

The TV is above it and I'm contemplating a wall mounted soundbar that I would mount to that surround so I wanted to see behind it. It's not finished wood. It's a big hole. with a little wood all the way around. If you removed it I think you would want to replace it with something else.

Good to know. I just put in a sound bar and was thinking of doing the same thing but it ended up fitting perfectly above the tv, hanging of the bottom of the upper cabinets.
