Does anybody know what U bolt torque is

Can any body tell me what the torque should be on axle U bolts. I just want to check mine to make sure they are the right on a 303RLS.

    Thanks

butch50 - Did you receive an LCI manual with your Reflection? All service and maintenance info (including bolt torques) for the Lippert components is included there.

I can't remember what axles you have on your 303. If you have Lippert axles, the information is contained in the axle manual which I'm attaching below. See page 18 for the torque chart. If they are 5.2K axles, the U-Bolt torque is 65 ft-lbs. If they are 6K to 8K axles, the U-bolt torque is 90 ft-lbs.

If they are Dexter axles, I don't have that information.

    Thanks guys

Yes I do have the Lippert manual but I have Dexter axles and there was no manual for them in my set of manuals. I guess I'll go search the Dexter site and see if I can find anything there.

I have the 5200# Dexter axles.

I'm thinking that they will probably be the same as the Lippert or at least in the ball park.

    Thanks

The other day I crawled under the 5er with my torque wrench and it is a hex nut and set the torque for 60# and tightened them to that which is kind of mid range. Some had to be turned down and other clicked as soon as they started to move. So some were below 60# and others were right at 60#. Glad I checked them and have them all the same now.

The reason I did this is on another web site somebody checked theirs and found them to be quite loose so just thought I would give it a check.
