Relfection 315 RLTS Coupler height
I have a request for 315 RLTS owners. Could I ask one of you to measure the height of the coupler to the ground if your rig is level and on fairly level ground? With that measurement, I can see which Equal-l-zer hitch shank is needed. I am getting the 1400/14000 4 point. Thanks

Chiefblueman stated in an earlier post that the height to the top of the ball was 21" when level.
I would caution however that the Equal-I-zer 1400/14000 is probably too light for the 315RLTS. Forget the fictional 1065 lb factory hitch weight. Some 313/315 owners have reported hitch weights well in excess of 1500 lbs. Most of the storage is in front of the axles including the huge walk-in closet and front pass through storage. All of the tanks are in front of the axles too. According to the Equalizer website we also have to count any weight loaded behind the rear axle of the TV as hitch weight. I wouldn't be surprised if you maxed the Equalizer with just the trailer, propane, ans a couple of 12v batteries BEFORE you load the trailer.
I would recommend the Blue OX SwayPro 2000 for this trailer. I did a lot of research on this as I was seriously considering the 315 as well. Just my opinion.Steve and Barb - Delaware

I would rather use something other than blue ox or anything like it, after my son in law about broke his wrist cranking the chains tight on his.

X2 on the tongue weight. Our 315 is 1700lbs tongue weight and that's with no water in the tank and no washer/dryer.

Get yourself a 24" breaker bar and a 6 point socket and forget the wrench that comes with the Blue Ox. Also use the tongue jack to raise the trailer and truck. I can do mine with no effort at all.

We have the Blue Ox 2000lb hitch. Set the ball height to 23" and you should be good.

I used the Equalizer hitch on our previous travel trailer. It was a great hitch and performed very nicely. That trailer used the 10,000 lb unit.
Equalizer's 1400 lb tongue weight hitch is not enough for the 315RLTS. As stated above, tongue weights on this trailer when loaded can easily exceed 1400 lbs by quite a bit. I'm running in the neighborhood of 1650 lbs.
I run the Blue Ox 2000lb hitch, 2.5 inch shank with the 2000lb bars and am very happy with it. No sway and good weight distribution. If you use the tongue jack to raise the tongue after hitching up to relieve tension, the bars are a piece of cake to install or remove. I used the same technique with the Equalizer. The Blue Ox is quiet and has no greasy bars to deal with. The suggestion to use a 24 inch breaker bar is a good one.

With that high of hitch weight I was thinking what is the actual weight of the trailer? Is it over the 10995 GVWR and is it overloading the axles and springs because I believe they are 5200 lb axles. The old FW I had flatten the springs in 2 years and I put 7000 lbs spring on it am I going to have to do that to this too?
