Manual Override on 337 Rear Stabs

It was a nice enough day to do some looking at various things on the new camper. The rear landing gear on the 337 (just behind the axles) have an access hole in the frame to insert the hand crank onto the gearbox shaft should the electric motor fail. Unfortunately, there's no access hole in the body skirt to insert the wrench through...can only be inserted when the door side slide is extended. Looks like an oversight...should be able to manually crank the gear up or down with the slides in.

Hey Steve, so you have 3 access holes on the skirt of the door side slide? One for gearbox to streetside slide, one for spare tire and one for the rear landing gear?

I have 1 hole in the street side skirt for the stabilizer jack

2 holes in the curb side skirt, 1 for spare tire
    , 1 for stabilizer jack.

I didn't see any other holes in the frame, am I missing something?

It appears to me that the street side hole is to crank in the slide out if the motor fails. The curb side back skirt hole also is for that slide out. The front hole is for the spare. All 3 of these use the same crank--that fits a 3/4 inch nut.

The stabilizer crank end is round with slots on each side. There are no holes through the skirts for this, but there is a hole through the frame (at least on the curb side when I just looked). I assume there is also one on the street side.

Move the slide out in if you have to crank up the stabilizers, then get down on the ground to use the crank. Unless someone has a better idea?

There's only a hole through the frame for the rear stabs on the curb side...no hole in the skirting. The front landing gear manual access is through a hole in the street-side propane storage. Both front and rear assume that the cross-shaft is intact for manual opertion.

I'm figuring on locating the hole on the skirt by transferring measurements from the spare tire and landing gear access holes in the frame...drill with the right sized hole saw and install a grommet that I hopefully can get from GD.

I'll be calling their customer service line tomorrow to discuss.

    Dave,

The crank handle for the jacks is way too short to reach with the curb side slide out. You will have to add an extension or something to reach.
