Exterior Finishl Discoloration
The exterior finish on the left side of our 2015 375RE is starting to show a picture box effect. I believe it to be the frame work inside the wall that is creating this problem. When you look down the side of the unit the area that's framed is still glossy but the area's between the framework is starting to discolor. When we purchased our unit we did have a protective coating sprayed over the exterior to help with fade, staining and water spotting but I'm not sure if it's breaking down in the sun. My first reaction is No, since portions of the wall has kept it's luster. Curious if anyone else has had this issue and if so what corrective measures did you take to reverse the discoloration.

There have been discussions on this forum about wall bulges that GDRV has willingly taken care of under warranty if they thought it was necessary. I do not recall any discussions about discolouring. Can you post pictures?

Sounds similar to the vertical lines we discussed recently on another thread. It occurs where the panels of plywood meet under the fiberglass. Often it’s not noticed until a later date after purchase. I first noticed mine a few months after purchase. Supposedly this is not a problem unless bulges occur as Rob described. I haven’t heard of discoloration as you describe, though pics may help. A call to GD may be in order if it’s different than what I described.

Steve,
Do you have a link to the discussion you mentioned? Also did that discussion include pics?

Use the search tool in the upper right corner on "delamination" (not that any of these are true delamination) and you will find several threads with pictures. This is one . . . https://www.mygrandrv.com/fo...t=Delamination

Wow, those pics are interesting. Looks like the aluminum framing. Not sure what to make of it.

My suspicion is that it has something to do with the spray on coating. I've not seen any other units with that issue. Those lines are showing the framing underneath the fiberglass. The only time I've seen something similar is on a cold morning when condensation shows up on the side of the trailer.
Since condensation shows a similar pattern on the side of the trailer, it is indicative of thermal differences between areas that are framed and unframed. Your coating may be wearing differently in these areas because of thermal differences.
My suggestion would be to try using a Carnauba based wax on a small portion of the affected area to see if it hides the lines. If so, then I'd discuss it with my dealership to determine the solution. Frequently, these aftermarket coatings have a 3 to 5 year warranty and you may have to make a claim against it.
