Battery Not Chargling
Had a heat pump installed in my Solitude and now when plugged into campground my battery is not charging. Put a brand new battery in to test it still does not charge . Any ideas of what to look for? Everything functions in the RV just battery does not charge.

The first thing I would look at is the battery cut off switch. It is located in the cargo bay on the front wall on the door side. Other than that, maybe a fuse has blown when they installed the heat pump.

Here's what I'd check. On most converters, there is reverse polarity protection fuses. I believe on this model, you need to slide the converter out to check them. It's quite possible that during installation, they may have accidently connected the battery terminals backwards. If they did this for even a second, it will pop the reverse polarity fuses. These fuses are not on the main fuse panel, but attached to the converter itself.
First, I'd check the battery terminals to make sure the tech didn't put the wires on backwards and leave them that way. Once that checks out, then pull the converter out of the case and check the reverse polarity fuses with a meter.

I just took the vent out under the stairs where the converter is. I usually hear the fan in there, and I do not, does that fan run most of the time.

If you have more than a few 12V lights on, the converter cooling fan should be running. If you have a voltmeter, you can measure the voltage at the battery. You should notice a difference in voltage when the camper is plugged into shorepower or not...voltage should be higher when plugged in and charging the battery.

It was the batteries in the converter. There are two 40Amp fuses in the back of the converter which makes it hard to get them in because you cannot see. Used a mirror and replaced them. It took longer to take the RV apart and put it back together. What a pain. The converter is bolted down and does not move so you cannot see the fuses without taking them out. That is what made it hard to get them back in, and that is why I used a mirror, and of course there is hardly any room to work also. Well its done now. Now back to camping.

Just a little confused. You say it was "two 40Amp batteries", but I'm sure you meant 40A fuses?
