Schwintek rail leak: possible factory fix?
A few months ago, I read an excellent post by someone who diagnosed a leak in their schwintek slide where the water was running in the channel behind the gear rail, from the outside end, past the seals, and into the bedroom. For the life of me, I can't find that thread now (my Google-foo is usually pretty good, but not tonight). If someone points me to that thread, I'd be happy to move this.
We just had our PDI for our Nov 2018 310GK. About 1/2 inch in from the outer end of the schwintek rails, there is an approximately 1/8 inch hole drilled through the track half way between top and bottom, and filled with what appears to be clear silicone sealant, as if it were an injection port. Has this been present all along, or is this new? I'm wondering whether this is GD's approach to fixing this particular problem.
Thanks for any comments whether this is new or has been there all along, in which case we may still have to fight the problem.

Al - if you enter "Schwintek" into the search tool in the upper right corner, there are several discussions that might be the one you were looking for.

Thanks Rob. Tried that, and "site:granddesignowners.com schwintek" in Google, and none of them seemed to be the one I read initially, which had pictures of his repair/solution: detaching much of the rail from the slide, prying it out a bit, caulking behind and on the top (but not the bottom).

Yes, read it. I'm on my phone and can't find it. It was Oregon. D Westoby or similar? Has a Prius in front of a Solitude on the avatars.
Great in-depth article. Try schwintech slide search. ??
Prius was dark blue. Try scanning the forum list pictures or search his name at bottom of forum. I can't navigate from this phone but definitely read it.

Did you ever get an answer regarding the 1/8" hole that was drilled into the bar and filled with silicone by the factory?? Is that their fix for the leak issue in the Schwintek slides? It seems like a more elegant solution that removing the bar to access the hollow backside of the track.
