Canadian License plates + RGW

Good Morning to all, but particularly our Canadian friends!
We bought a new truck, an F250 to pull our new 303RLS.
This may have been covered somewhere already, but wondering what everyone does about registering RGW (registered gross weight). It used to say that if you were over 4500kg you would require a CVOR. However it would appear that is no longer required if truck is specifically personal use.
Our real RGW would be more like 7500, so I am wondering if people actually weigh and pay the actual, or just leave the truck at the original licensing amount ie 3000kg, or maybe strike a happy medium, say 4500kg?

You do not need a CVOR or a commercial sticker on your truck. Like you said, its for personal use/recreational vehicle. There was issues years ago with the MTO regarding some trailers that were crossovers/work trailers but since been resolved.

Your truck weight will have to be prorated. Your valtag is going to change to a accommodate the weight. I have a Ram 2500 and it was, I believe $180 per year (going from memory, but it is higher then car)
