Clarksville TN to Grand Canyon Village AZ?
Made reservations a the grand canyon village. Am planning on 4 or 5 stops along the way. Our first stop will be around Little Rock AR. Looking to drive about 6-8 hours per day. Closer to 6 hours would be best. Looking for places to stay along I-40. Have started the search but thought id ask those who have traveled this route. Recommendations? Looking at spending 2 nights per site. Thanks for your experiences.

Mike,
Try using http://www.myscenicdrives.com
I plugged in Clarksville TN to Grand Canyon and got this.....
Day 1, 388 mi — about 5 hours, 59 mins; Stop in Atkins, AR.
Day 2, 423 mi — about 5 hours, 59 mins: Stop in Erick, OK
Day 3, 419 mi — about 6 hours, Stop in Albuquerque, NM
Day 4, 387 mi — about 5 hours, 43 mins; Stop in Grand Canyon Village, AZ.
I used travel days set to 6 hours +/- 30 minutes.
Using this info the next steps I use are to run Google Maps and search campgrounds in the areas I would plan to stop in and then

DW and I have taken that trip a few times. We've stayed in Russellville, AK but just overnight.
Near Albuquerque we've stayed at Enchanted Trails RV Park but I think American RV Resort may be a better choice.
No comments at other overnight stops.
There are some nice stops in Amarillo and OK City too but it looks like you are on a pretty tight schedule form TN to AZ.
Photo of MyScenicDrives route with day stops included....
On the other hand (if travel times are flexible....) in Amarillo, TX you can stay at Amarillo Ranch RV Park and take a free Limo to the Big Texan for a good steak. In Holbrook, AZ there is the OK RV Park (not much around there but a good place to stop if need be (weather, etc.). Maybe you can at least drive through Winslow, AZ for a quick stop at the "corner" on RT66. On the west side of OK city there is nice community park: El Reno Lake CG (good price too).
Happy travels.... so much to see, so little time......Larry KE4DMG

My wife and I just did that trip in October. We took 25 days and went to both the Lake Meade area and then on to Grand Canyon Village. I would suggest Palo Duro Canyon just south of Amarillo, it's beautiful and has a nice state park campground. There are multiple places to stay in Albuquerque. We don't usually do casino's but all others were booked due to the balloon festival so we stayed at Route66 Casino and RV Resort on the west side of town. It's a little open with no trees but it's a nearly new facility and very nice. Lastly, the Meteor Crater RV park in Winslow AZ is very nice. If you've never seen the crater I strongly suggest it. Most people don't know it's there and it's only a 10 minute drive off of I40. Also, if you're over 50 you could apprecite "Standing On The Corner In Winslow AZ" A couple of hours makes for a nice visit to the best preserved meteor crater in the world. I would be happy to give you any help I can. If you would like, please PM with your number and I'll give you the "brain dump". Have fun!

Downtown Riverside RV park in Little Rock. Right on the River, you can walk across the Bridge and spend all day at the River Market complex. Stayed there out and back from Huntsville to Utah/Grand canyon.

To add to the Winslow stop, if I did it again, I would drop the trailer at the truckstop in town right off the highway before heading over to said landmark. Not a lot of places to squeeze the whole rig into, had a Momentum 388m at the time.

I have driven that route in a car. Pretty uneventful trip. If has been awhile since I drove over to Ft. Smitn, AR, but it awkwarDness never finishes interstste constriction. I remember how rough the roads are West of Oklahoma City in OK. And I was surprised that the New Mexico roads are uphill basically all all the way across the state.
You didn't say when you are going. The weather can get pretty tough on the I:40:route in winter, especially at the high elevation of Flagstaff.

We use the Downtown Riverside RV Park in North Little Rock. If you put Little Rock into your GPS you will wind up in the wrong place. lol. It is a gated park, you will need reservations. As was said, it is right on the Arkansas River, walking across the bridge will also take you to the Clinton Presidential Library.
