Probably a dumb newbie question - trailer length
We will be shopping for our 2800BH starting in February. In the past camped for years with a Starcraft pop-up. The question is regarding when we reserve a camp site on-line, and they ask for the trailer length. People refer to the length of their trailer by the living space length. For reservations do we call the 2800BH a 28 foot or a hitch to bumper 32 feet?

Mostly it won't be much of an issue, but I would use the 32'. A lot of times the site length size is not based on the actual length of the site, but rather the ability to get the trailer turned/backed into the site.

Welcome to the GD Owners Forum!
My best answer is "It depends" [emoji3].
I usually go with the longer length, unless there's a limit stated, like max trailer 30'. If I really want to stay there, I'll fudge the length a little. Many campgrounds will have some sites that can accommodate somewhat longer trailers.
You can always call ahead and ask just how strict the limit is.

Another thing to remember is the camper width when the slide is extended. Here in Indiana, when reserving online, we can get a picture and description of each site. Some will say they can't accept slides. Usually in the older state Park campgrounds.
Hope you enjoy your 2800. We got ours in September. Pretty awesome camper.2018 Imagine 2800bh

Mine is 41'4" according to the GD brochure however, I always tell them 42'.
A few weeks ago, up in Dallas I guess somebody told them he had a 40' trailer but it was about 42' or 43'. A 45' motorhome pulling a towed couldn't get by him on the narrow lane. The office had this guy unhook and move his coach back two or three feet until the motorhome could get by. He was upset that he had to move his coach, the office was upset that he lied about the length of his coach that caused this problem. I'm sure he was trying to save a few bucks by stating a smaller length. The row that I was in (right across the narrow lane) was for 45 footers it was $5 more a night.
For me, I don't want the risk of somebody rubbing up against me because I'm sticking out in the lane to far.SOLD my 2017 Momentum 376TH being pulled by a 2014 Ford F-350 Lariat, FX-4, Crew Cab, Longbed, Dually. Not pulling the 5er, catch me on my 2013 CVO Harley Ultra Classic.

Interesting read! This being our first year (coming up), we've been wondering a related question: how does the TV enter into the equation? Do you state the length of just the 5er and assume that there will be someplace to park a large pickup, or does one have to put in the total length, with the TV parked in line with the trailer?
Thanks!
