No usable outside shower faucet on the 303.

I traded in my GD29rs which had an outside shower faucet in the back, for a GD303, which doesn't. I don't count the one on the non-door side of the rv since it's not that usable being on the opposite side of the door.

I'm thinking of installing one myself on the back bottom side of my trailer since they are pretty cheap from W and D on the internet. Anyone ever cut a hole into the side of their trailer for installing anything? If so, what did you use?

I used a hole saw to drill through the fiberglass for an electrical fitting. It was vey fast and made a clean cut.

Great, I thought of that but thought the big hole saw teeth might rip into the side. I wasn't sure what the sides were actually made of. Thanks

Lance - It depends on where and how big you want the hole(s). A hole saw is certainly the right tool for going through the fibreglass skin of the side wall . . . but how are you going to plumb the water to this inside the trailer? If you stay under the trailer (which I think is your plan) the best tool for holes up to about 1 1/2" diameter in the aluminum skirting is a "stepper drill bit". Put a piece of tape around the hole final diameter on the bit and go slow step-by-step.

Spinning the hole saw backwards minimizes the tearing of plastic. I've used this trick on vinyl siding.

I'm looking to install the quick connect hose adapter as seen on the backside of the Reflection 29rs and others. The "D and W" website sales them. They require a 2 3/4" hole. They also sale the hot and cold valve setup that requires a square hole like on many trailers advertised as the outside shower. I feel it would be pretty easier as long as I correctly drill the hole and then connect the hose, from behind it, to a cold water line under the trailer. I have to remove a few of the sheet metal screws holding the underneath sheeting, at the back of the trailer, to make sure there is enough room and depth, I believe 4", to install the quick connect adapter. Thanks for the help.
