30 amp and 20 amp connection when 50 amp not available

I have heard of add on interlock breaker box or similar device to allow powering a 2nd ac or other large load from a separate 20 amp extension cord at parks where only 30 & 20 amp outlets are available. I have searched and found information on the jtb power solution, but I had heard of other devices that where much more reasonably priced but required manual switching. Can anyone provide information on options to split the the electrical load of to acs. One on 30 amps with everything else, the other on a 20 amp.

We have the Safe RV Power transfer switch installed in our 337; we have used it multiple times and it works well. I rewired the main circuit panel so the front air and fireplace were on the same circuit and power that circuit thru the transfer switch. They are a little pricey but fairly easy to install. We camp in Illinois State Parks quite a bit and they are very limited on 50 AMP sites.

Thanks, this was exactly what I was looking for.

When you rewired the fireplace and forward ac to be on the same circuit did that mean both items are now on the same 20 amp breaker?

They were not on the same breaker from the factory, in fact they were on different sides of the main panel. I chose to put them on the same breaker because they should never be on at the same time, at least not with the fireplace in heat mode which is the high current draw.

Our unit has a heat pump on the main unit and last fall we camped for 10 days in 50 degree weather at a Illinois State Park in a 30 AMP site. It was really nice to be able to run both the HP and fireplace.
